Size: Adult females usually range from 5-6 feet and males range from 3-4 feet

Lifespan: This species can live for 10-15 years

Enclosure: 20 gallon long aquariums are suitable for juvenile snakes, once full grown, 40 gallon breeder aquariums are preferred, and should have a horizontal branch securely attached and spanning from the two farthest sides of the enclosure

Temperature: A gradient of 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit on the cool side and 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit on the basking side

Humidity: The enclosure should be kept between 60%-70%

Diet: Appropriately sized mice, rats, and even chicks when fully grown, frozen/thawed rodents are preferred, but some snakes will exclusively eat live, feed every 7-10 days
