Size: Adults  usually range from  4-5 inches

Lifespan: This species can live for 20-30 years

Enclosure: 20 gallon long aquariums are suitable for juveniles, once full grown, 40 gallon breeder aquariums are preferred with a substrate of cage carpet, aspen, cypress, and coconut shavings or mulch

Temperature: A gradient of 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit on the cool side and 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit on the basking side and full-spectrum UV lighting per day is recommended

Humidity: The enclosure should be kept within 60%-70%

Diet: Both juveniles and adults should receive vegetables such as spring mix and proteins such as roaches, mealworms, and the occasional pinky mouse.
